Day 2 of the 2025 Bronco-11 World Series
Day 2 Game 5: Smithfield, VA (14) vs West Raleigh, NC (12)
West Raleigh, NC stayed in it until the end, but Smithfield, VA pulled away late in a 14-12 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at 12 in the top of the eighth when Benjamin S grounded out, scoring two runs.
William B collected three hits in five at bats in the loss. William B singled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.
Smithfield, VA opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two errors. Smithfield, VA first got on the board when an error scored one run.
Smithfield, VA added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Connor J grounded out, West Raleigh, NC committed an error, and Daniel H singled to center field, each scoring one run.
West Raleigh, NC tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a single by William B, a ground out by William W, and a single by Max C.
Smithfield, VA took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Barry P singled up the middle, and Simon G laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run.
West Raleigh, NC scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jackson S singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Matthew R singled, scoring one run, and Max C grounded out, scoring one run.
Matthew R opened the game for West Raleigh, NC. The pitcher allowed seven hits and seven runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Thomas T stepped on the mound first for Smithfield, VA. The pitcher surrendered nine hits and seven runs over four and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.
West Raleigh, NC collected 13 hits in the game. William W provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led West Raleigh, NC with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. William B and Max C each collected three hits for West Raleigh, NC. Matthew R collected two hits for West Raleigh, NC in five at bats. William B, Ryan R, and Max C each stole multiple bases for West Raleigh, NC. West Raleigh, NC stole 10 bases in the game.
Smithfield, VA piled up 14 hits in the game. Simon G and Benjamin S were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Smithfield, VA. Day 2 Game 6: Chengdu, China (2) vs Chesterfield, VA (19)
Chengdu, China had trouble keeping up with Chesterfield, Virginia in a 19-2 loss on Saturday.
Chesterfield, Virginia got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after HYATT H singled down the right field line, JACE B doubled to center field, JACK L singled down the right field line, Chengdu, China dropped a third strike, and Chengdu, China committed an error, each scoring one run.
Chesterfield, Virginia scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning. JACE B singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, ZHENGYE A induced JACK S to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, BAYLOR J doubled, scoring two runs, and YARIEL R doubled, scoring one run.
Chesterfield, Virginia scored eight runs on eight hits in the bottom of the third inning. DANIEL W singled, scoring one run, JACK L singled, scoring two runs, BAYLOR J singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, JACKSON M doubled, scoring two runs, and DANIEL W singled, scoring one run.
BRENDAN Z started the game for Chengdu, China. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and 10 runs (five earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none. YARIEL R started the game for Chesterfield, Virginia. The starter surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over one inning, striking out one and walking one.
SHENGCI Z and ENOCH O each collected one hit for Chengdu, China. SHENGCI Z and TAN Y each drove in one run for Chengdu, China. SHENGCI Z and YOUXIANG X each stole multiple bases for Chengdu, China.
Chesterfield, Virginia collected 18 hits in the game. BAYLOR J, the number eight hitter for Chesterfield, Virginia, led the way with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. JACE B led Chesterfield, Virginia with three hits in four at bats. YARIEL R, HYATT H, JACK L, and DANIEL W each collected multiple hits for Chesterfield, Virginia. JACK S and JACK L each stole multiple bases for Chesterfield, Virginia. Chesterfield, Virginia stole seven bases in the game.
Chengdu, China will play their next game against West Raleigh, NC tomorrow at 2:00pm.
Chesterfield, VA will play their next game (Game 10) tomorrow at 5:30pm against the Navajoa, Mexico.
Day 2 Game 7: Hidalgo, Texas (3) vs Navajoa, Mexico (0)
Both teams were strong on the bump on Saturday, but Hidalgo, Texas was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over Navajoa, Mexico.
A sacrifice fly by ALBERTO D put Hidalgo, Texas on the board in the top of the second.
MARCO L earned the win for Hidalgo, Texas. The starter gave up two hits and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. MIGUEL R took the loss for Navajoa, Mexico. The reliever went four innings, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out nine and walking none. JOEL R earned the save.
RAMON F, DANIEL G, MAXIMILIANO L, MIGUEL R, and Santiago H each collected one hit for Navajoa, Mexico.
ABEL C went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. GAEL W and JOEL R each collected two hits for Hidalgo, Texas. Hidalgo, Texas turned one double play in the game. Hidalgo, Texas were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. GAEL W made the most plays with 11.
Navajoa, Mexico will play their next game (Game 10) tomorrow against Chesterfield, VA at 5:30pm.
Hidalgo, Texas will play their next game (Game 11) tomorrow against the Winner of Game 9 at 8:00pm.
Day 2 Game 8: Cheviot Hills, CA (16) vs Barranquilla, Colombia (0)
EMMETT L drove in four runs on two hits to lead Cheviot Hills, CA past Barranquilla, Colombia 16-0 on Saturday. EMMETT L singled in the third inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two.
Cheviot Hills, CA opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Cheviot Hills, CA first got on the board when WILLIAM K singled, scoring two runs.

VINCENT S stepped on the bump first for Cheviot Hills, CA. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two. THIAGO C opened the game for Barranquilla, Colombia. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and six runs (three earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking two. EMMETT L, JACK S, and BROCK M each came on in relief for Cheviot Hills, CA and shutdown Barranquilla, Colombia.
Cheviot Hills, CA tallied 11 hits in the game. EMMETT L, JACK S, SIMON B, and ANDREW F each collected two hits for Cheviot Hills, CA. Cheviot Hills, CA had patience at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game. JACK S, WILLIAM K, and OLIVER C led the team with two walks each.
